To end LGBTQ+ History I want I to share with you a preview of a portrait I was invited to paint, as my contribution to be incorporated into “Invisible Portraits”.

Opening at Southampton City Art Gallery  2022, Invisible Portraits is an exhibition by Artist Lucy Ash highlighting the LGBTQ+ community through a series of abstract portraits, celebrating diversity, bravery and forgotten figures, making LGBTQ+ history visible.

The subject of my painting is Stephen Ireland, founder of Pride in Surrey.
Stephen and the team inspire me so much, and it is wonderful to be able to submit a portrait in celebration of Stephens boundless energy, passion and commitment to the LGBTQ+ community in Surrey and beyond.

This is in recognition of the dedication of the Pride in Surrey Team, and I am proud to be their Patron.

REPRESENTATION MATTERS – HISTORY MATTERS – PRIDE IS A PROTEST
