I’ve been having an absolute blast on the Lets Rock Tour.
To be honest I wasn’t sure what to expect, as I don’t usually work with a live band, after perfecting my track show over the past 35 years.
Performing in a party section, when all of our songs Segway smoothly into each other without a break was (I thought) going to be a challenge,
But I is fantastic, and our little Retrobate family of Fuzzbox, Nathan Moore, Annabella Lwin, Peter Coyle and me are having the best time.
I can honestly say we all get on like a house on fire, and its an absolute pleasure to be with them every Saturday.
The Retrobates house band are super slick (and super hard working) and I am really grateful for their professionalism every week.
A massive thank you to Brian Henry the musical director, along with the rest of the band: Daniel, Don, Ewan, Helena and Cleo – THANK YOU!
Obviously I see lots of my peers when I’m out on the road, but there is something unique about the camaraderie backstage at Lets Rock.
We get chance to chat, relax have a cup of tea, eat lunch together and sometimes even cake (baked by Miss Dean Junior) and maybe even watch a bit of football too.
Everyone is so well looked after by the backstage team (and the onstage team too)
Maybe it’s the combination of a great team, a fantastic audience and glorious sunshine, but this has been a very special experience and I’ve made some lovely new friends, and great memories.
These photos really sum up the fun of Lets Rock. I hope those of you who have been to the festivals have enjoyed them as much as I have.
I’m already booked into April 2019, so my (alleged) semi-retirement isn’t holding me back – Thanks to Team Dean who like to keep me busy.
Hey – Team Dean-ers everywhere – Keep Rocking – Enjoy the rest of your Summer!
Always Hazell xxx
